May 6, 1992

John Lifflander
3290 Balsam Dr. S.
Salem OR 97302
363-6418 home, 378-3738 work

To: Lee Grimes, Marion County Building Dept.

Subject: Septic Application

Lee, the following information should help explain our septic
installation. If you want me to meet you at the site, please let me
know.

1. There are n~o wells within 500 feet or more of the septic site.

2. We want to set-up a mobile home for about six months, while we
build a house. The mobile is a 2 bedroom, but the house will be a
4 bedroom, so we want to install a system satifactory for the
house.

3. I have marked the corners of the house, garage, and mobile site
with 3 ft. wood lath sticks, with red tape and writing. I also put
a stick where the proposed septic tank goes, and the beginning and
end of the drainfield.

5. The road west of the proposed drainfield was scraped off by
mistake, but it has not been driven on and compacted. I've cordoned
it off with a fence, as you will see when yon inspect the site.

6. We have shot the levels with a transit and figured that the flow
will be correct for the site - but of course this is subject to
your approval.

7. We would like to install an 80 foot pipe, set to flow at a
minimum of 1/8 inch per foot slope, so that we can get the
drainfield oat of the front yard, and possibly leave the yard as a
replacement field. The front slopes at a greater drop than 1/8 inch
per foot, already.

9. The house and mobile will be adjusted to the height necessary to
get the desired flow into the septic tank.

I hope this explains it clearly.
in our telephone conversation.

S~ e

appreciate your

patient answers
