130 Lakecrest Br., Detroit <br />June 23, 1992 <br />Page 1 <br /> <br /> Mar, ion County <br /> OREGON <br /> COMMUNITY DEV[/OPMgNT <br /> <br /> Building Inspection - Dwelling Plan Review <br /> <br />The attached plans have been reviewed for compliance with the state of Oregon <br />1990 Edition One and Two Family Dwelling Specialty code. <br /> <br />1. Approved numbers or addresses shall be placed on all buildings in such a <br /> position as to be plainly visible and legible from the street or road <br /> fronting the property. (UFC 10.208) <br /> <br />2. The grade away from foundation walls shall fall a minimum of 6 in. <br /> within the first 10 ft., except as restricted by lot lines where the <br /> fall will be a minimum of 6 in. regardless of the horizontal distance <br /> available. (R-301.3) <br /> <br /> 3. It is the responsibility of the building designer to verify the <br /> stability of vertical or near vertical cuts in soils. This item is not <br /> included in the Oregon Dwelling specialty Code and has not been reviewed <br /> by Marion County Building Inspection. (R-304) <br /> <br />4. Footings shall extend not less than 12 in. below the finish natural <br /> grade. (R-303) <br /> <br /> 5. Stairways shall not be less than 3 feet in clear width and the headroom <br /> shall not be less than 6 feet 8 inches. The minimum required stair <br /> tread width is 9 inches. The maximum stair rise is 8 1/4 inches. All <br /> treads hall have a nosing o5 effective projection Of approximately 1 <br /> inch when risers are closed. The greatest riser height shall not exceed <br /> the smallest by more than 3/8 inch. (R-213.1) <br /> <br /> 6. Handrails meeting the following requirements shall be provided on at <br /> least one side of stairways. The handgrip portion of handrails shall be <br /> not more than 2 5/8 inches in cress-sectional dimension, or the shape <br /> shall provide an equivalent gripping surface. Handrails shall be <br /> mounted between a minimum of 30 inches and a maximum of 38 inches. They <br /> shall be continuous the full length of the stairs. Ends shall be <br /> returned or shall terminate in newel posts or safety terminals. <br /> (R-214.1) <br /> <br /> 7. Firestopping shall be provided in the following locations: <br /> A) In concealed spaces of stud walls, including furred spaces, <br /> at the ceiling and floor level; <br /> B) At all interconnections between concealed vertical and <br /> horizontal spaces such as occur at soffits, drop ceilings <br /> etc.; <br /> C} In concealed spaces between stair stringers at the top and <br /> bottom of =he run; <br /> D) At openings around vents, pipes ducts, chimneys and <br /> fireplaces at ceiling and floor level, <br /> with noncombustible materials.
