CONSTRUCTION IN~RUCTIONS <br /> <br />LAYOUT AND EXCAVATION <br /> <br />Study plans and instructions thoroughly and select a site. Be sure <br />to check your local code requirements and obtain building permit if <br /> <br />Clean surface of site and make nearly LEVEL at building location. <br />Surrounding aress should slope away from building in ali, directions <br />to provide adequate drainage. ~Minimal site preparation may be needed <br />for storage building while the site for a livestock barn may require <br />a good base for a concrete floor. <br /> <br />Stake out perimeter of building with batter boards and string as shown <br />iu diagram below. The building line is at the edge of the wall nailers <br />and beaders. Measure to check that the end building lines, rear build- <br />lng line and front building line measurements are as shown on the plans. <br />When the building is square the diagonal measurements will be eq~al. <br />During the building layout be careful, it establishes locations and <br />elevations. Careful layout will make construction easier and will help <br />keep the building sqnare. See Diagram 1. <br /> <br />BUILDING LAYOUT WITH BATTER BOARDS <br /> <br />4. Mark pole locations with stakes and remove string. <br /> <br />5. Dig holes /~diameter ~.?deep. Clear holes of loose soil and water. <br /> <br />6. Place concrete pad in bottom of hole and let cure. See Diagram 2A below. <br /> <br /> <br />
