OREGON
MIPUBLIC WORKS
.
April 29 2021
(503)588-5036
Dale Weiss
123 Sorbin Ave
BOARD OF Gates Or 97346
COMMISSIONERS
Kevin Cameron,Chair RE: Proposed major repair permit no. 555-21-009195
Danielle Bethell
Coim Willis Dear Mr. Weiss
DIRECTOR We have completed our authorization inspection evaluation for the proposed connection
Brian Nicholas, P.E. to the current septic system located at the above referenced property, please see the
findings below:
ADMINISTRATION The tank that was serving the previous home was not large enough to accommodate a
single family dwelling per OAR 340-071-0220(3)(a)(C)
BUILDING "The capacity of a septic tank that servs a single family dwellin must be based on the
INSPECTION number of bedrooms in the dwelling. For a dwelling with 4 or fewer bedrooms, the tank
capacity must be at least 1,000 gallons. The current tank, is approximately 500 gallons
EMERGENCY and had been damaged and had holes in the lid and the side. The tank also does not
MANAGEMENT meet required setback from tank to drainfield.
We were unable to ascertain the exact lineal footage of the drainfield but it is less than
ENGINEERING 50ft and does not meet a 10 ft setback to property lines as well and in regards to OAR
340-071(220)table 4, minimum drainfield sizing for this area is 50 ft for every 150 gallons
ENVIRONMENTAL and for a 2 bedroom home pre 1974 the minimum gallons produced is 300 gallons
SERVICES resulting in 100 ft of drainline. Due to space limitations and setback concerns 100 ft of
drainline would not fit so a 12ft by 25ft seepage bed was permitted to accommodate this
OPERATIONS home. This type of system will require a pump and an alarm as well as a pumping dosing
tank and an operation and maintenance agreement to be carried for the life of the system.
PARKS
If you have any questions, please contact this office.
PLANNING
Thank you,
SURVEY
4/34v(itt outsa0---K„
Kimberlee Aldrich EHWS
Marion County Onsite Wastewater Inspector
503-373-4354
CC: Lone Pine Septic
is
5155 Silverton Road NE•Salem,OR 97305-3802• www.co.marion.or.us/PW
Printed on recycled paper• Reduce—Reuse—Recycle-Recover
