Perhaps a question for Kim, but since we are not proposing any additional flow through the existing tank
as this will be a new tank on a new additional dwelling, are we still required to pump the existing tank per
the Authorization instructions?Seems like this would apply if we were adding bedrooms and the existing
tank would be impacted by additional flow, but this does not apply our specific scenario.
Thanks for the clarification on the county form and associated instructions,
Kiel.W. First you,or owner,will apply for a septic
authorization with 3 test pits. The authorization will have to be denied because of the additional projected sewage
flow. We will then create a site evaluation application(the money paid for the authorization will be credited to the
site evaluation). Once the site evaluation is approved, someone(yourself, owner,or installer)will apply for an
install permit to modify the existing septic system. Once the install permit is issued,we can issue any structural
permit on the property. This will allow you to move forward with the project as you want.
If you have questions, please email building@co.marion.or.us or call 503-588-5147.
Thank you,
Cyndee Tate, Permit Specialist
Bui[ldinz Inspection,Marion County Public Works
Marion—
calmer state@co.marion.or.us
(503) 566-39,96(office) ]
faR 1 Sit1 .
3
