Robert Goodwin
From: Robert Goodwin
Sent: Friday,June 17, 2022 10:11 AM
To: American on site Bush
Subject: RE: 1760 S Boones Ferry Rd NE 555-22-004608
Hi Chris,
Yes I got a chance to run things by Kim to make sure I am on the right track. Here is how I'm seeing the situation:
1. The current permit application is for a two bedroom single family dwelling, which by default is 450 GPD,though
given the lack of approvable area and the fact that the lot was created before March 1, 1978, it can be permitted
at 300 GPD. (OAR 340-071-0220(2)(a(A)))Since this is a,repair application, no future repair area would be
required for this permit to be issued. This permitted flow would be the basis for any future authorization
notice/increase in flow.
2. I understand the owner wants to convert the future home into 2 one bedroom apartments in the future. OAR
340-071-0220(2)(a)—the minimum flow for an apartment building is 900 GPD.There is no issue with oversizing
the drainfield to reflect their future plans but, when they apply for the change of use/increase in flow OAR 340-
071-0205(6) requires a construction/installation permit for a flow increase in excess of 50%or 300 gallons, and
construction/installation permits are required to have a full repair area. If they were to propose an increase
within 300 gallons or 50%,they would still have to have a repair area under OAR 340-071-0205(5)(c).
Considering the lot is very small and there is an extremely small approved area, this looks like it would be
extremely challenging without either an easement to increase the potential size of the approved area or a
variance to allow for installation/future repair in the area of the denied test pit.
Hopefully this clarifies things, as always feel free to give me a call to discuss.
Thanks,
Robert Goodwin, REHSI Onsite Wastewater Specialist II
:Pros,out.S:Ht,Hirrt,His
', a^i +n Building inspection,Marion County Public Works
Count
rgoodwin@co.marion.or.us
OREGON '(503) 566-3990(office)
From:American on site Bush<aosseptics@yahoo.com>
Sent: Friday,June 17, 2022 6:39 AM
To: Robert Goodwin<RGoodwin@co.marion.or.us>
Subject: Re: 1760 S Boones Ferry Rd NE 555-22-004608
Q WARNING:This email originated outside of Marion County.
DO NOT CLICK links or attachments unless you trust the sender and know the content is safe.
1
