This property was damaged by the
ENGINEERING Beachie Creek wildfire in 2020. During this time, the septic control panel was destroyed.
This Authorization Notice is being issued simultaneously with a Certificate of Satisfactory
ENVIRONMENTAL Completion for the replacement of the control panel.
SERVICES
OPERATIONS The property owner has proposed a two-bedroom replacement dwelling, increasing the
amount of flow to the system. However, according to the As-Built and other permit
PARKS documents within the Certificate of Satisfactory Completion (555-16-008505-SEP), the
system design flow is 450 gallons per day, which would accommodate up to a four-
PLANNING bedroom dwelling, per OAR 340-071 (Table 2).
SURVEY Flow Information:
The existing septic system currently serves a one-bedroom dwelling. This application is for
expansion to a two-bedroom dwelling. The proposal does not increase the design flow as
the system as stipulated in 555-16-008505-SEP.This increase in use is allowed under OAR
340-071-0205(4). AUTHORIZATION TO CONNECT TO THE EXISTING ONSITE SYSTEM IS
APPROVED.
THE APPROVED SEPTIC SYSTEM AREA MUST BE PROTECTED from any vehicular traffic,
livestock, and farming activities. Other activities such as logging, excavating, or filling,
driveway placement, or any similar activities may also damage the soil in the area and
adversely affect the septic system approval. The areas of the initial septic system and the
future repair system must both be protected.
THE SEPTIC TANK MUST BE INSPECTED BY A LICENSED PUMPING SERVICE AT LEAST EVERY
TEN (10)YEARS. Per OAR 340-071-0120(2)(c),the system must be evaluated for solids and
5155 Silverton Road NE•Salem,OR 97305-3802• www.co.marion.or.us/PW
Printed on recycled paper• Reduce—Reuse—Recycle-Recover -
