Measurements were taken at
four (4) locations along the West-facing stemwall, with the wildfire being closest to
this side of the house, especially at the Northwest corner. Three (3) locations were
measured on the East side, for comparison with the West side, to determine if there
may have been strength loss due to heat exposure on the concrete. Two (2) readings
were taken at each test location. Conversion charts for rebound force to
corresponding concrete compressive strength were used to approximate the in-situ
strength of concrete. Note
that the concrete on the side closest to the wildfire actually measured stronger than
the side furthest from the wildfire. Regardless, the measurements shown are
indicative of sound concrete with sufficient strength. Code minimum strength for
residential concrete foundation walls exposed to weather is 3,000 psi.
Report Date: March 28, 2021 Page 11 of 44
Site Visit Date: March 6, 2021 Taylor& Syfan Consulting Engineers, Inc.
