I believe that one of the primary missions of our city government is to enhance and maintain the quality of life in our great town. My goals for success in city government include providing quality services, paring growth to infrastructure capacities and transportation systems, fiscal responsibility, working with other governmental entities including the local school district, and promoting stabilization of the Oregon Garden. A crucial aspect of successful city government is to encourage citizen input. These factors are essential in protecting the unique and enjoyable environment we have in Silverton. Prior commitment and ongoing dedication to public service will help me cultivate the elements of city government that the citizens of Silverton deserve. There is a learning curve involved in becoming an effective city councilor. My experience will reduce that curve; thereby allowing me to be a key participant in the policy making process. My desire is to help maintain the stable and reliable city government we currently enjoy, and also assist in preparing for the future. It would be an honor to contribute to Silverton as your City Councilor. Sincerely, Bill Cummins (This information furnished by Bill Cummins and is printed exactly as submitted.)
