15 years experience in the Marion County Assessor’s Office: Currently
supervising residential and farm sections. Five years as Lead Appraiser and
seven years experience appraising residential, manufactured structures,
farm and rural properties for tax assessment purposes.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: Bachelor
of Science, major: Business Management/Mathematics and Statistics, Western
Oregon State. Oregon Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers and
various Appraisal and Management courses. Graduate of Stayton High School
1974.
PRIOR GOVERNMENTAL EXPERIENCE: Over 15 Years in Marion County Assessor’s Office. Two
years in Polk County Assessor’s Office.
KRIETZER, Guarantees
the collection of and distribution of approximately $258,500,000 in
Property Taxes to over 70 different taxing districts, including over
$115,000,000 to school districts alone.
KREITZER, Continues
to strive for improved responsiveness and implementation of a more cost
effective, flexible computer system.

that Marion County is growing at a fast pace and anticipates forward
direction for modernizing the appraisal systems and streamlining the
property tax system to get the job done efficiently and cost effectively

Richard Kreitzer grew up in Stayton, where his parents
owned and operated Kreitzer’s Men’s Clothing Store, which is
still in the family. His wife of 25 years, Meera, is a Principal for the
Salem-Keizer School District. Richard is also blessed with two active
daughters.
