For over a decade I have worked with you and many other dedicated people to make North Salem a better place to live, work and raise a family. Through our efforts we have made positive strides towards those goals.
It has been through the grassroots efforts of working with neighbors and business owners that we have seen positive changes taking place in our community. These changes have come from finding creative ways of addressing issues without throwing our tax dollars at the problem.
Examples of such efforts of which I have been a part:
Highland Summer Concerts, which have re-established our neighborhood park as a place for families.
The Paint Back Program, which requires convicted youth to remove graffiti using recycled paint.
Organizing Neighborhood Watch Programs that have made our city safer.
I am excited about our future.
We have seen North Salem neighborhoods become models for community involvement. North Salem has one of only two schools in Salem to receive an “Exceptional” rating.
It has taken a community effort to produce these accomplishments.
To continue to be successful, we need leaders with the desire to and experience of working cooperatively with all parts of our community. The programs above were successful because I worked with people like you. We had a common goal, we worked together, and we made a difference.
As your city councilor, I will continue my grassroots involvement. It is my goal and passion to see our city, and especially North Salem, reach its full potential of being a desirable place to live, work, and raise a family. I ask for your vote on May 16th.
