Salem has many wonderful things. We have great parks, a good library and a vital downtown. Unfortunately, the city has a huge revenue shortfall that threatens to close our library and damage other vital public services in the next five years.
I have two young children. I want my children along with all Salem residents to live in a community with parks and recreational opportunities, a library, a healthy environment and safe streets. I want to find a solution. That’s why I’m running for the Salem City Council.
If elected, I will:
• Stop public subsidies that promote new development. Development should pay its fair share for schools, parks and other city services.
• Carefully scrutinize our economic development program to insure that the public benefits.
• Explore progressive revenue sources that will save our library and other public services.
• Promote meaningful public involvement in city decisions.
• Protect our environment and preserve our neighborhoods.
Thank you for voting.
“Ward 7 residents will be well represented by a clear thinker like Anna Braun. We are lucky to have someone with her insight and abilities to vote for in May.”
