Civil Service Commission Hello, my name is Joe Van Meter and I’m asking for your vote to serve you on the Keizer Fire Department Board of Directors in Position #2. I moved to Keizer in 1972, and it’s been satisfying for my wife and I to successfully raise our children in a safe, secure and active community. The Keizer Fire Department is a major participant in the development of the “sense of community” here in Keizer. I have volunteered in a number of ways, currently as a member of KFD Civil Service Board and in the past as your city councilor, also on the City Parks and Urban Renewal Advisory Committees. I’ve served in Keizer Little League, and as a past chair of several committees at McNary High School including LSAC chair, and A&D Free Grad Party chairperson. I am a past president of the Keizer Rotary Club, whose many activities benefit Keizer. In my current employment I have experience in the development and monitoring of Budgets and experience in negotiating and monitoring labor agreements, important functions of the Board. I am excited about the opportunity to serve you on the Keizer Fire Board and look forward to working with the staff, volunteers and committed Board members. When elected I will work to ensure Keizer is a safe and stable community into the next Century. Please vote Joe Van Meter to Position #2 of the Keizer Fire Board.
