I see the need for changes in the City of Turner:

The attitude and actions toward citizens needs to be improved, particularly to those who present ideas at City Council meetings.

We need to encourage, not discourage new businesses that might be interested in locating here.

We need to address the issue of the encroachment of the surrounding cities into the Turner area.

We have a lot of retired people in our City and there is much that can be done to make their lives easier. The possibilities of better bus service, banking and a mobile library are just a few ideas.

Turner is a nice town and I would like to help keep it that way. I have seen many small communities swallowed up by larger cities and would not like to see that happen here. If we don’t do something about growing our own town, it’s quite possible that we could eventually be absorbed into Salem. The growth of Salem is heading this direction.

My husband and I grew up in Oregon. I was raised in Douglas County and Vern in Marion County. In fact, he lived in Salem, graduated South Salem High and Western Oregon University. Our working years took us to California but our retirement years brought us back home.
