My love and concern for the Stayton Area has lasted for more than 23 years. The energy and depth of interest generated from the citizens of Stayton was evident gathering signatures for the annexation referendum. I want to utilize that energy and interest to help make our city council responsive to the needs of the people that live in Stayton.

A city councilor has many roles and responsibilities. The law and city charter dictates many of these roles and responsibilities. A city council should be connected to its citizens. A city councilor should listen to the people he/she represents. That role is critical to providing the citizens with a representative city government.

I have the experience, as President, Vice-President and steward of the Salem Oregon Local of the American Postal Workers Union, which runs parallel to many of the roles and responsibilities of a city councilor.

There are many issues a city council must address. The level of city services and the rate of growth ignite citizen interest. The city council is responsible for determining their results. I will do my best as a councilor to listen to your concerns and work with the council to provide the best solutions to all issues.

I am soon to be a grandfather. This new life increases my desire to see this community prosper. I look forward to being your city councilor and have the privilege to shape the future of Stayton. I understand the responsibility of the position and the challenge. I ask you to give me the opportunity to help this community realize its potential.

Thank you for your vote.
