Former Salem City Councilor 2001-2004, (subcommittees included Kids and Cops, Salem Futures, Water/Wastewater, Transportation, Boards and Commissions, Legislative, Tax Reform, Audit, Youth Compact and Youth Commission). Salem Budget Committee, Salem Housing Authority, Salem Urban Renewal Board.

The County needs a fresh perspective and someone who will ask difficult questions. I will bring openness and balance to the County Commission.

I do not have ties to any special industry that does business with the County. I will be able to make decisions about the Marion County trash incinerator that benefit the public, not the waste industry.

My knowledge and interest in good land use planning is needed. I will protect our valuable farm land and existing neighborhoods from sprawl.

I have a history of promoting public involvement in government decisions. I will ensure County decisions are made in public.
