A lifelong library user, it has been a pleasure for me to help bring the proposed Salem Public Library District ballot measure to voters in Marion County. As a former resident of rural Oregon, I appreciate the difference the expanded district will make for me personally and for other Seniors like me who live outside existing library boundaries. I support more children’s programs, longer library hours, increased Bookmobile outreach, and an active current book acquisition program to keep our library collection up-to-date. A new library branch is needed in East Salem as an early capital undertaking. I look forward to participating in the important and unique opportunity library Board service offers. An expanded Salem Public Library District is the means that will develop resources to enhance our children’s reading ability as well as provide support for the literacy skills Oregon employers require.
