MEASURE NO. 24-147

Proposed
Salem Public Library District

Argument in Favor:

SCHOOL MEDIA SPECIALISTS AND ASSISTANTS
SUPPORT THE SALEM PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT

School media specialists and public librarians work to provide a variety of materials to members of our community. Both also teach, formally or informally, provide assistance, and run reading programs. Their work helps enable community members to become effective users of ideas and information.

The creation of the library district will bring full library access to some 40,000 people who live within the Salem-Keizer School District boundaries (excluding the City of Keizer) but fall outside of the City of Salem tax-supported library area.

In homes where parents and older family members read, children are more likely to become skilled readers. The library district will provide equal library access to both parents and children, and will make sure that students and their families have full year-round access to library services.

VOTE YES FOR THE SALEM PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT!
