MEASURE NO. 24-147

Proposed
Salem Public Library District

Argument in Favor:

OUR LIBRARY NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT

Our Salem Public Library has been serving as a vital resource to the Salem community for more than 100 years. The Salem Public Library Foundation has proudly raised money for more than 20 years to enhance services at Salem Public Library. In recent years, the Library has faced cuts to essential services.

The board and honorary directors of the Foundation (listed below) support the formation of the Salem Public Library District. The District will ensure that the Central Library and its West Salem Branch are open to the public all week. The District will help maintain a broad variety of books and materials. The District will support informative and popular programming for adults and children. The District will keep the bookmobile serving neighborhoods, retirement centers, and outlying areas.

Most importantly, the District will at last provide the stable funding necessary to support our Library. We strongly urge you to vote YES.
