MEASURE NO. 24-122

Turner Rural Fire Protection District

Argument in Favor:

EQUIP OUR LOCAL VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS
& PROTECT OUR NEIGHBORHOOD

VOTE YES ON MEASURE 24-122

More than 650 times this year, the volunteers of the Turner Fire District will drop everything to respond immediately to the emergencies in this community! This system requires a huge amount of time, energy and training from a relatively small group of dedicated people.

A YES VOTE will dedicate our tax dollars to the safety equipment and gear that protect our Firefighters, Paramedics and EMT’s as they respond to the emergencies in our neighborhoods.

As local taxpayers, TFD staff and Volunteers are sensitive to unnecessary tax rate increases. Not only do they invest great energy in preserving the community’s investments, but they remain dedicated to asking for only the dollars actually needed.

The self-contained breathing apparatus and much of the bunker gear worn by our volunteers is exceeding its life expectancy and is failing to meet current safety standards. Not only will a YES VOTE fund needed protective gear for the volunteers, but it will increase their ability to save lives by providing new defibrillators and other Advanced Life Support equipment used everyday.

In addition to personal safety gear and improved ambulance equipment, the TFD is asking for dollars to buy reliable replacements for vehicles such as their 1972 water tender which has 250,000 miles. These vehicles will not only allow for faster, better and safer responses in dire emergencies when every second counts, but will improve responses in our growing rural neighborhoods.

Volunteers and staff of the TFD are committed to excellent service. A YES VOTE on this tax measure is a great way to help support our fire district and allow them to work safely in support of their vital mission. Help protect those who protect our community!
