MEASURE NO. 24-122

Turner Rural Fire Protection District

Argument in Favor:

As an elected Board of Directors, we are focused on leading the staff and volunteers of the TFD. It is a pleasure and a responsibility that we take very seriously. Serving on the Board is our chance to support the very people who risk their lives protecting us and our families! The Board finds it our duty to communicate openly with the community about the really tough challenges we face.

In this era of government waste, it is easy to vote ‘no’ on every tax increase. However, this measure is different than many others. It is a chance for local citizens to trust local officials and firefighters with their hard-earned money. It is a chance for all of us to invest dollars not in pay raises and benefits for government employees or programs that don’t impact us locally, but to invest these dollars in equipping and protecting the people who gladly protect and serve us!

As long-time residents, tax payers and community supporters, we sincerely ask every voter to consider making an investment in the future viability of your fire district and the safety of our community. This proposed tax will not only allow us to buy safety equipment for firefighters to use during interior fire attack and search & rescue, but also Advanced Life Support (ALS) equipment and other tools used to save lives.

Again, the TFD Board of Directors takes great pride in the amazing work done by our staff and volunteers. We vow to each taxpayer that we will continue to administer each dollar carefully as you trust us to fund the projects that allow our team to respond to devastating fires and to save lives.

Thanks for supporting our staff and volunteers. Thanks for trusting us!

Respectfully submitted,

TFD Board of Directors
