Open engagement of differing viewpoints results
in the best decisions.

Polite dissent is essential for a healthy democracy.

All kinds of people with diverse opinions live within the borders of Marion County. True leadership should engage our differences to forge a future together.

I question whether the current county leadership can reach out to those with differing opinions when all three county commissioners are from the same political party. Democracy does not thrive in a situation where everyone always agrees.

My contribution to the Marion County Commission will be to bring another viewpoint to the decisions of the commission and also to help create an environment where differing opinions are not just respected but truly welcomed.

If elected I will work to encourage more people to engage in our County government. I firmly believe the best decisions come from an open public process.

The County Commission needs some balance.
I will provide that.

(To Spanish speaking voters: I would have liked to provide a
copy of this statement in Spanish but Marion County rules
do not allow me to do so).

Anna lives in Salem with her husband and two young daughters. She is currently serving as Ward 7 City Councilor representing south Salem.
