As a 45-year resident of Salem, I’ve built relationships with diverse groups by listening and fostering cooperation. The priorities of these groups are as different as the personalities that make them up. There are certain priorities that are consistent with all groups. It is towards these priorities that I will focus the council’s attention. We’ll work to:

• Ensure a healthy economy by keeping businesses strong.

• Recruit businesses that provide new jobs and will be active in our community.

• Provide lower police, fire and emergency response times.

• Make our downtown a place where people want to live, work, and play.

• Protect the best drinking water in the country and improve the health of the Willamette River.

• Secure stable funding so our library can keep consistent hours.
