MEASURE NO. 24-01City of GatesReferred to The Voters by Initiative PetitionAmends City of Gates Charter QUESTION:Shall the City of Gates Charter be amended to require voter approval before seeking monetary grants from government agencies? SUMMARY: Amends the City of Gates Charter to require the city council to submit any proposed grant request from the state or federal government to the electors of the city for approval. The amendment would require a majority of the electors to approve a grant proposal before such a request could be made of the state or federal government. The amendment would restrict submission of a grant proposal to the electors to only elections held at the same time as elections for city officers.
