As a candidate for the Woodburn School Board I believe:

• Every student deserves the best education the Woodburn School District can provide.

• Every taxpayer deserves the assurance that the district is spending tax money in a way that provides the best education possible for all students.

• The best education requires the participation and support of the students, their parents and the community.

As a current member of the Woodburn School Board I am convinced:

• Curriculum and teacher training programs implemented in the last four years will continue to improve the quality of education the Woodburn School District provides.

• Improvements in the budget building process allow the district to focus limited tax resources on achieving its improvement goals.

• The Woodburn School District, its patrons and the community need to find and support a solution to the continued growth in student population and the resulting overcrowded schools.

• Increasing property taxes should not be the only way to fund the building of new schools.

• The Woodburn School District Board of Directors needs to take a leadership role in the community and the state to ensure that the unique needs of Woodburn schools are understood and their triumphs are celebrated.
